Holly Willoughby left This Morning co-host Phillip Schofield speechless after making a hilarious blunder.
The pair were presenting a segment about a sloth retirement home, where the older animals move from the zoo to make room for mating pairs.
But despite spending a month with different animals and critters, Holly made an outlandish claim about the slow mammals.
The 37-year-old said: “I’m sure I’ve been told, and we’ve been frantically Googling… If you turn a sloth up the right way, it will explode.
“I’ve definitely heard that somewhere, but I don’t know if it’s true. Now I’m hearing it out loud, I don’t know.
“I’ve got a feeling there’s some truth to it somewhere.”
And just moments later, Holly said: “Apparently they don’t fart either. That’s news just in, maybe that’s what happens.”
But it wasn’t just Phillip that could barely contain his hysterical laughter, as users poked fun on Tiwtter.
Charlotte wrote: “Can’t get over Phil mocking Holly for thinking sloths explode when they turn the right way up.”
Samantha said: “Thanks Holly for making my day! Had a good giggle at your sloth comment. My sister and I convinced a relative, that sheep were so adept on hills because their legs were shorter on one side.”
And @MissJEM1 said: “Holly thinking sloths explode has made my year already.”
Luckily Marcel McKinley, a senior zookeeper at London Zoo was on hand to dispel any rumours.
He said: “I’m really sorry Holly they don’t [explode]. Once a week they go down to the grounds to go to the toilet, and they crawl around a bit, so if it happens they don’t explode.”
