Clarence Houses stance on claims that Charles and Camilla divorce announcement is imminent – Daily Post

A popular Australian magazine has claimed that Prince Charles and Camilla are filing for divorce after almost 15 years of marriage.

New Idea magazine says that a “royal insider” has spoken of the struggles within the royal couple’s relationship.

The Prince of Wales, 70, has reportedly been consulting with his divorce lawyer, Fiona Shackleton – a leading figure in the field who represented Charles during his divorce with Princess Diana in 1996.

The insider also told to the magazine that Charles had “already signed the papers.”

New Idea’s source said that the couple have “barely seen each other” in recent months, with the Queen even stepping in to reduce any speculation.

However, the publication’s claims have not been confirmed by the couple’s official residence, Clarence House according to Cornwall Live.

When asked by North Wales Live if they would comment on the claims, a spokesperson for Clarence House said that it wasn’t something they would be “making an official comment on.”

The rumours come after Camilla missed a number of important engagements recently including the Queen’s pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace.

The royal couple have been married since 2005

The 71-year-old was also not in attendance for the Christmas Day church service at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham.

And the Duchess of Cornwall was also absent from Princess Eugenie’s wedding in October due to prior commitments – which were reported to be a local school harvest festival near her home in Balmoral.

The royal source told the magazine: “While the whole world has been obsessed with Kate and Meghan’s feud and William and Harry falling out, behind palace walls there’s been a much bigger drama afoot.

“It’s believed that Charles and Camilla are set to announce their divorce imminently.

The royal couple had opened the Bodnant Welsh Food Centre in North Wales back in 2012

“They’ve already signed the papers and have barely seen each other in recent months, apart from Charles’ 70th birthday event, which the Queen made Camilla attend to avoid speculation.”

The magazine added that “despite happy public appearances,” everyone in the royal circle is aware of the truth about Charles and Camilla’s relationship.
